It really shouldn't matter as far as I know; I'm not aware of anything in Fink that depends specfically on xtools features, so XTools should satisfy system-xfree86 just fine.

Well, I don't know one way or the other, and I suspect you don't either ;-), so I thought having someone at hand who actually has this thing installed would be a good opportunity to get the question solved once and for all. I don't even know whether Tenon is offering a 10.3-compatible xtools.

The system-xtools package in the 10.2 tree does some file patching. And it has a guy from Tenon as maintainer. No idea if he is still around.

What does "fink-virtual-pkgs" output?

In an earlier message, Gamal posted this:

Package: system-xfree86
Status: install ok installed
Version: 2:4.3-1
provides: x11-shlibs, libgl, libgl-shlibs, xft1-shlibs, xft2-shlibs, rman,
fontconfig1-shlibs, xfree86-base-threaded-shlibs
description: [placeholder for user installed x11]

This is somewhat strange, because x11-shlibs is there, but not x11.

But my bet is now that Gamal didn't mean Tenon Xtools when he wrote "xtools".
