I am using 10.3.2, latest version of fink installed (fresh install).

With 10.3, you shouldn't be building glib-1.2.10-8, but glib-1.2.10-18. Check that /sw/fink/dists is a symlink to 10.3 and that your Distributions line in /sw/etc/fink.conf is set to 10.3.

Martin,

I changed the symlink:

[/sw/fink] schillo% ls -al
total 88
drwxr-xr-x 10 root admin 340 21 Dec 15:37 .
drwxr-xr-x 11 root admin 374 17 Dec 19:31 ..
drwxr-xr-x 5 root admin 170 17 Dec 19:31 10.2-gcc3.3
drwxr-xr-x 5 root admin 170 21 Dec 15:36 10.3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 1607 13 Nov 22:59 README
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 6 13 Nov 22:59 VERSION
drwxr-xr-x 22 root admin 748 17 Dec 21:31 debs
lrwxr-xr-x   1 root  admin      4 21 Dec 15:37 dists -> 10.3
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 31490 13 Nov 22:59 override
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 0 13 Nov 22:59 stamp-rel-0.6.2

the fink.conf is changed to start with

# Fink configuration, initially created by bootstrap.pl
Basepath: /sw
RootMethod: sudo
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto local/bootstrap
Distribution: 10.3

OTOH, there is no big difference between version -8 and -18, so that the correction of your distribution will perhaps not help. Do you have /usr/include/poll.h and /usr/include/sys/poll.h?

these files are present.

But when I run fink now, it does not find a package for ghemical anymore. Does this mean that I cannot install ghemical with 10.3?

Thanks so far,
Michael.
