hi,

i have a few newbie questions... i hope someone finds
the time to answer them, cause i'm feeling a bit
confused :-)

* something to 'confirm': i'm running mac os x
panther... as i read on the apple site, XFree86 is
installed here by default, which means i don't have to
download it from the apple site, or from the fink
site.. right?

* i read at the fink site, that when you type startx
in the terminal, XFree86 should start... instead i get
this message:

[fluxXo:~] bruun% startx
tcsh: userclientrc=/Users/bruun/.xinitrc: Command not
found.
tcsh: userserverrc=/Users/bruun/.xserverrc: Command

tcsh: sysserverrc=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xserverrc:

tcsh: defaultclient=/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm: Command not
found.

how do i fix this?

* i downloaded fink, installed it (the pre-compiled
pkg)... followed the instructions to set up the
environment.. but still, when i type apt-get, or
dselect, i get the message 'command not found'.. what
am i doing wrong? (on the other hand, the 'fink'
command does work)

many thanks,
/bruno
