Tjeck /Library/Receipts/. If it contains X11SDK.pkg it means that you have already installed it. Tjeck the date and version info on the file and compare it with the ditto on the one that you're trying to install.

You 'could' try to remove the .pkg file, an install the SDK again. I've done it, and it worked, but I'm not sure whether it's the correct thing to do...

Hope it helps,
Steffen

It appears you have a partially-installed version of the Apple X11
release. To use Apple's X11 with Fink, you must download both the
main X11 installer, as well as the SDK (there are actually 2 separate
downloads for the Apple X11 release). Please go to
http://www.apple.com/macosx/x11/ and download and install the missing
files, and re-attempt your install of system-xfree86.

i then try to install x11 sdk for mac os x, and i get the following error:

You can not install this software on this volume. Newer Software already
exists on your computer.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and what i can do to fix this?

thank you,
sebastian
