Hi,

I'm running Panther and I'm up-to-date with all the updates. I tried installing fink, following the instructions at http://www.captnswing.net/howto/nicotine/ I've installed all the Developer Tools in the <x-tad-smaller>Developer.mpkg</x-tad-smaller> package, and I installed fink using the Fink 0.6.2 Installer.

Are these the XCode Tools, which are _the_ Developer Tools for Panther?

When I try to run the series of commands (from those instructions):
fink selfupdate ; fink index ; fink update-all

I get:

##################################################################
Setting up fink-prebinding (0.7-2) ...
Failed:
This package must be compiled with GCC 3.3, but you currently have 3.1 selected.
To correct this problem, run the command:

sudo gcc_select 3.3

You may need to install a more recent version of the Developer Tools to be able
to do so.

Then when I try using gcc_select I get:

###############################################################
sudo gcc_select -v 3.3
gcc_select v1.3
usage: gcc_select [-n] [-force] [2 | 3] [-h | --help] [-v | --version]
[-root] [ -nc | --no-color]
Invalid argument (3.3).

You said "gcc_select -v 3.3" which returned the version of gcc_select. What happens if you use "gcc_select 3.3"?
