I'm very confused and not sure of what I'm doing incorrectly.
I'm running OSX panther (latest updates) with latest dev tools, X11, and latest version of fink (unstable CVS) on both my G4 and laptop.
Both my laptop and G4 use a tcsh shell and I have the same updated files on both.
I can run KDE on both my G4 and laptop by running the following .xinitrc:
source /sw/bin/init.sh export KDEWM=kwin /sw/bin/startkde >/tmp/kde.log 2>&1
I can run Gnome on my G4 desktop by using the following .xinitrc; however, I cannot get Gnome to start on my laptop:
source /sw/bin/init.sh exec /sw/bin/sawfish & exec gnome-session
When I try to launch X11 on my laptop (in full screen mode) I get the gray screen but X11 dies quickly thereafter.
I tried to reinstall X11 SDK and User, but it didn't seem to help.
Does anyone have any idea about what could be going on? Thanks!
