I've been scrounging the net for information but seem to have ended up more
confused. I'm about to upgrade to Panther from 10.2.8. My intent is to do a
clean install, possibly even formatting the partition. Afterwards I want to
install Fink. What order should I do this in? ie do I need to install X11
and BSD and... SDK? Fink? Fink Commander? Should I install all system
components before reintroducing my application software? What is the
*ideal* way to go about this?

I had thought of playing around with Fink with 10.2.8 but I seem to have
really messed up -- MissingMediaBurner turned into really missing the CD
burner, finding burner but now Toast locks up, etc. Even slower Finder, if
that was possible.

If someone could point me to a step-by-step current and easily understood
(ie less techno-jargon to start with) FAQ, I'd be appreciative.

Thanks

Pete.
