[Fink-beginners] dpkg failed

Each time I try to install a package with dependencies, I seem to get a 
similar error. Here's the one I get from trying to install "soundtracker":

dpkg -i 
/sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/base/fink_0.19.1-1_darwin-powerpc.deb
dpkg: status database area is locked by another process
### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 2
Failed: can't install package fink-0.19.1-1
