However, FinkCommander Binary install still doesn't work well. Do I need to change scripts somewhere else?

OK. Now see if you can do "Binary->Update Descriptions". Also, I just remembered that someone else had a similar problem, and they needed to run "Update Table" to see the new packages--for some reason this wasn't done automatically.
