Thanks for the help Alexander. Apparently I need to update kdebase3 to 3.2.1-11. When I ran update I saw that kdebase3-shlibs was to be updated also. No problem so I ran the update and 6 hours later got:
/bin/mv: rename /sw/src/root-kdebase3-3.2.1-11/sw/lib/kde3/*randr*.so to /sw/src/root-kdebase3-shlibs-3.2.1-11/sw/lib/kde3//*randr*.so: No such file or directory
### execution of /bin/mv failed, exit code 1
Failed: installing kdebase3-shlibs-3.2.1-11 failed

I assume the problem is missing file shown above. Now what?
Mucho thanks,
Brian

The file is missing because something went wrong when it was being built. You need to check the build output and see where this happened.
