[Fink-beginners] bash vs tcsh

Thank you for your help, fink now runs at the command prompt in the X11 
window :-).  I just wanted to clear up some confusion I still have 
regarding the different shells.  So if my G5 now uses the bash shell as 
the default, is the .profile file the equivalent of the .cshrc file in 
my tcsh?  I ask, because on my other mac I have a load of alias's and a 
set PATH command.  Can I just put these into the .profile file?
