Hello fink users

I am a beginning fink user and I have been trying to install xfree86 on my g3
powerbook w/ os
X 10.2.

I have been having several problems...

If i do fink install xfee86 XDarwin dies immediately... If i try to run xterm at a
terminal window,
instead of getting a cannot open display warning I get a cannot find a certain library
warning
(cannot remember what library currently)...

so after that did not work I started over and I have been able to install xfee86-base
& xfree86-rootless (or the threaded versions) and I can start up XDarwin select
rootless or not and
it starts up whatever window manager is there and it works...

but then i go to do fink install windowmaker or.. fink install vim and it says i need
to install xfee86 and xfree86-shlibs...

So if i go to the package list on the fink website and look at the xfee86 package
there is a warning
there to not do fink install xfee86 if you allready have xfee86-base (which i do). It
says there to
install the update.. i would assume w/ fink install xfee86-update.. but if i do this
no package is
found

So... essentially what I am wondering is... how does one get windomaker, fvwm2, vim
etc..
if they have used the xfree86-base & xfree86-rootless packages? If the answer is to
use the
update.. how do I do that?

Thanks for anybody & everybodys time
Mike Bonner
