[Fink-beginners] Upgrading fink

I have the 0.7.0 binary version of fink installed. I'd like to get access to newer versions of the packages, so I'm going to install the rsync or cvs source version. Can I just do a 'fink selfupdate' with my current version or do I have to install the source version from scratch?
