Daniel,
Thanks for answering! In fact I really wasn't sure this was a malfunction, so it's good to have it confirmed it's not my imagination...
In response to your questions:
1) I am running "Package manager version 0.20.6" and "Distribution version: 0.7.0 cvs"
2) I am self-updating via rsync.
3) I don't get any errors or warnings before these warnings, and yes all these warnings are also produced by running 'fink index'
4) Waiting a few hours has no effect. I've been getting this reliably for days.
Here's a cut&paste from an excerpt of a log I produced by doing the command 'fink index > finkindex.log':
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "" at line 1 of "/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/x11-wm/enlightenment.info".
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "" at line 1 of "/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/x11-wm/windowmaker.info".
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "" at line 1 of "/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/web/amaya.info".
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "" at line 1 of "/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/web/wget.info".
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "" at line 1 of "/sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/text/agrep.info".
WARNING: Unable to parse the line "
The only wrinkle here is that in the actual logfile, I noticed that the empty string "" is in fact filled with dozens of ^@ chars. I have no idea what this means, but you can find the entire log at www.alexisgallagher.com/finkindex.log if you're curious.
Thanks, alexis
