Hi all,
I just installed msttcorefonts and all related packages, including xfontpath, but none of those applications can see those fonts. I have Panther 10.3.4 with X11 1.0.
They see only a limited number of fonts and none of them are Unicode. It seems I made a mistake somewhere.
If I understand well, all this stuff with xset fp+ in .xinitrc is now obsolete and one needs to use different methods to activate fonts.
Actually I don't have any .xinitrc at all. If I create a new .xinitrc with xset... X11 doesn't start and silently quits.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance,
Vladimir
Here's what I use:
....
xfontpath install applettf freefont ghostscript/Type1 msttf sharefont konsole
xfontpath enable
....
If there's a newer way, I'd like to know, too.
By the way, did you also invoke a window manager in your attempt at a .xinitrc?
