That shouldn't have mattered. You probably didn't have the X11 SDK installed, which is required to compile packages.
installingSwitched to Darwin XFre86 and GAIM compiled easily :) The fonts in XFree86 are horrible though! I triedthe Apple fonts via Fink with no results...
So you installed applesystemfonts? Are you doing anything special to
read them in?
How may I improve the fonts in XFree86? BTW, I am also running KDE 3.1 installed with Fink...
