The parentheses around "i" mean that you have an older version than 3.6.1-3 installed. This could be 3.6.1-1, for example. Which one it is, you can see with
dpkg -l libtiff\*
If it's not a 3.6.1 version, you need to upgrade. In any case,
sudo apt-get install libtiff-shlibs
cannot be wrong. From what you said, it looks like you don't have a 3.6.1 version of libtiff-shlibs installed.
