I need some help on this strange problem. I have been using XDarwin with
GnuCash on Mac OS X 10.2 for about 6 months. Today, I upgrade from xfree86
4.3.x to 4.4.0-3 through Fink, compiled from source. The whole upgrade
process completed without any problem, but then XDarwin failed to start
(well, it seems to start but then quit due to errors in client.)

Here is the message I got if I execute XDarwin in terminal:

2004-10-06 16:50:31.786 XDarwin[3164]
XDarwin 1.3.0

XFree86 Version 4.4.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)
Release Date: 29 February 2004
If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your hardware is
newer than the above date, look for a newer version before
        reporting problems. (See http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ)

2004-10-06 16:50:32.023 XDarwin[3164] X client process terminated with
status 1.
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing
from list!
Quitting XDarwin...

I have tried to remove xfree86 clean and re-install in Fink, but no change.
I have also change the client started in .xinitrc and try both twm and
xterm, same error.

Some related info:
Dual 1GHz G4
Mac OS X 10.2.8 (6R73)
Darwin kernel 6.8
Fink 0.22.2-1
Fink Commander 0.5.3

Does anyone has any idea or suggestion? Or some places to look for more
detailed error messages / logs?

Thanks in advance.

Chiaming Hsu
