Unnecessary. This goes back to what you originally posted.
Just as a shot in the dark, try running
fink validate /sw/fink/debs/*.deb > ~/finkvalidate.deb
(This will be lengthy). Then look at finkvalidate.deb and see if there's a message about a file linking to an invalid location (don't send the file to the list, please!)
