Hey Alexander,
I installed the X11 SDK from disk because I was installing Gimp from source, but that didn't do it. I now get:
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
### execution of /var/tmp/tmp.2.dfHluK failed, exit code 1
Failed: compiling gimp2-2.0.6-1 failed
Robert Wyatt suggested I try sudo apt-get install gimp and now I seem to have downloaded gimp 1.2, although my xterm says 'no such file' when I type it in.
Any suggestions?
Don
Ah--this one's familiar:
http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/comp-general.php#xml-parser
And run "ls -l /sw/bin/gimp" to see if you have a "gimp" executable--it's possible that you just have "gimp-1.2" or something.
