What version of fink do you currently have ("fink --version")? There may be an upgrade path issue here.

OK, I think I finally found it by myself. As I said, I installed the sw folder on another partition of my HD and the name of this volume was "Big Boy" with a space in it. Since I removed the space, fink updates without a problem.

On the other hand, I have the same problem than others with updating KDE and kdelibs3:

dpkg -i /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/kde/kdelibs3-dev_3.3.2-22_darwin-powerpc.deb
(Reading database ... 81972 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking kdelibs3-dev (from .../kdelibs3-dev_3.3.2-22_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/kde/kdelibs3-dev_3.3.2-22_darwin-powerpc.deb (--install):
trying to overwrite `/sw/lib/libknewstuff.la', which is also in package kdepim3-common
Errors were encountered while processing:

/sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/kde/kdelibs3-dev_3.3.2-22_darwin-powerpc.deb
### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1
Failed: can't install package kdelibs3-dev-3.3.2-22

This means I can't update KDE and, for example, install Koffice which needs an updated KDE.

Happy new year to everybody...
