I need to make some changes in /etc/sshd_config. After doing this, how do I restart sshd from the command line?

Is this a Fink-installed sshd? (you'd want to edit /sw/etc/ssh/sshd_config then)
If so then you can just kill the process and start a new one.
If this is for the builtin ssh, then just turn Remote Login off and on again in System Preferences (and why are you asking here, then? :-) ).
