If experience is any guide (simple 'profile' migration from a Powerbook to a iBook), it ought to kill all the X/Fink/sw stuff so carefully labored over <big grin>.
That's an interesting topic: what will Tiger kill here? Seriously, I gave my Powerbook to my son, did a simple firewire 'target drive' migration when I did my initial thing w/ the iBook I replaced it with, and *nothing* worked right a la X/Gimp/ethereal subsequently. I recall an entire day of, um, "learning" as Mr. Alexander kindly helped me unravel the mess i'd made (holy cow are the sages in this forum patient and intuitive). That is, I had a terribly old fink/fink commander set that sort of sabotaged me right off the get-go, and I admit it, i'm lazy. It's why I have a Mac. I sort of forgot everything I had done a year ago to get it all working.... Anyone else have this same feeling?
