I find it easier to copy the .deb for package I build on one machine to another machine and place them where they would be if they had been compiled on this new machine. The new machine's fink adopts them as its own. machine1 % cd /Volumes/FlashDrive machine1 % tar -czf deb-collection.tar.gz `readlink /sw/fink/debs/*` machine2 % cd /sw/fink/debs machine2 % tar -xzf /Volumes/FlashDrive/deb-collection.tar.gz Note that this requires stuff be built yourself on the first machine (not downloaded via apt-get or with fink's UseBinaryDist mode) and that your package description (.info) files (in /sw/fink/dists/) also be in sync on the two machines. Hrm, actually perhaps transfering the whole /sw/fink hierarchy would be better in your case, since that would effectively "selfupdate" the off-line machine to match the online one. dan -- Daniel Macks [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.netspace.org/~dmacks ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: GoToMeeting - the easiest way to collaborate online with coworkers and clients while avoiding the high cost of travel and communications.
