Hello list,

I realise that this is not specifically a fink issue, but it says in the FAQ in a number of places that tools need to be downloaded from Apple's Developer Connection do that files can be compiled after download. I've tried several times to download the Developer Tools from there (all 750 MB of it), with absolutely no success. After failing with Safari I installed Speed Download 3 from another Apple website, but have had no better luck. Generally after 50 - 70 MB or so the process just dies, and there appears to be no resume function. I'm connected to the internet via an adsl router, and I have had some problems in the past downloading large files from Linux and Windows boxes, but never anything quite as persistently unsuccessful as this. Are there any tricks to this that anyone can suggest? Is it possible to get the Developer Tools on a CD for somewhat less than the US$500 that the ADC Shop sells if for?

I have just bought my first Mac computer (a Mac Mini), so I don't know very much...

Derrick Ashby
