You're right about the bad symlink, Martin. It's pointing to 10.2 instead of 10.3 For whatever reason, Carbon Copy Cloner must stumble on symlinks. I had the same problem with the symlinks Apple set up in /usr/x11R6/lib. The links pointed to older versions of dynamic libraries (.dylib) that were not there. I had to update them by hand.

That's an interesting bug :-) Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't hurt you at other sensitive places (System/Library/Frameworks comes to mind, or did you reinstall your system from scratch?)

I'm having trouble getting /sw/fink/dists to point to /sw/fink/10.3 because 10.3 is a directory. Can you help on that?

The only problem is that if you do a simple

 sudo ln -s 10.3 /sw/fink/dists

and if the symlink existed already before, it will not replace it, but put the new one *inside*, i.e. you will have then

 /sw/fink/10.2/10.3->10.3

and /sw/fink/dists is as before. This is what the -n flag is for (or -h in newer versions). Do

  sudo ln -nsf 10.3 /sw/fink/dists

See man ln.
