Now that Martin helped me get selfupdate to work, I tried to reinstall gtk+2. That package depends on glib2, which is installed, but apparently broken because reinstall of gtk+2 tripped on it. Working backwards, I tried to reinstall glib2. Reinstallation fails:

Any idea how to resolve this? I'm wondering if it is yet another broken symlink.

Thanks,

My hard drive crashed, so I replaced it and restored my backup to it (using Carbon Copy Cloner). All is well except I can no longer get any gtk2 apps to run. Here's the error I get when trying to start bluefish:

[santorini:/sw/lib] marc% dyld: bluefish can't open library: /sw/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
You may want to rebuild gtk+2 (the dylib is from gtk+2-shlibs).

I have version 2.6.2-9 of libgtkhtml2 (& shlibs) installed.

My first thought was to reinstall libgtkhtml2. That doesn't work. Here's what I get:

santorini:/sw/lib] marc% fink reinstall libgtkhtml2
Information about 3134 packages read in 4 seconds.
The following package will be reinstalled:
 libgtkhtml2
Failed: can't find package libgtkhtml2_2.6.2-9_darwin-powerpc.deb
Don't use reinstall here, but rebuild.

[santorini:/sw/lib] marc%

I did a fink selfupdate and got lots of warnings I'm not used to seeing. Here's a snippet:

WARNING: Deprecated multi-line format used for property "patchscript" at line 9 of "/sw/fink/dists/unstable/crypto/finkinfo/zssh-1.4-2.info". WARNING: Deprecated multi-line format used for property "installscript" at line 14 of "/sw/fink/dists/unstable/crypto/finkinfo/zssh-1.4-2.info". WARNING: Deprecated multi-line format used for property "installscript" at line 15 of "/sw/fink/dists/unstable/crypto/finkinfo/zssh-1.4-2.info".
Updating package index... done.
Information about 3134 packages read in 27 seconds.
No packages to install.

It looks like something is _very_ wrong with my .info files.

BTW, I'm still using Panther.

Any idea how to clear up this mess?
Maybe first fink index, then fink selfupdate.

Cheers,
Michle
