A further thought regarding my previous post. I booted from my backup
drive on which I have a fink installed KDE 3.3.2 and Evolution 1.4 that
work. Kontact crashes but KMail and Kaddressbook work. My KDE3.4 on my
regular drive has a functioning Kontact but crashing KMail (on new
message) and non-starting kaddressbook. Is there a way to copy over
KDE3.3.2 packages onto my hard drive for KMail and Kaddressbook and
eliminate the bad KDE3.4 packages so that I can use KDE3.4 yet run the
earlier functioning versions of Kmail and Kaddressbook from the
Kontact3.4 version? Or without Kontact for that matter-just stand
alone? How about copying over the necessary Evolution stuff to get that
working again?
My goal is to have an info suite that has email, contacts and calendar
and while Evolution works I'd prefer the KDE Kontact suite. Either way
I'd like to have something that works.
Thanks,
Brian
