Since I don't know lopster.app, my suggestion would be to ask its developer (vasi) who usually hangs out on the Fink mailing lists or on #fink. It seems to use open-x11, so you could perhaps modify /usr/bin/open-x11 (or rather place a modified copy into /usr/local/bin) so as to use XDarwin.app instead of X11.app. open-x11 is a simple shell script; it should be easy to adapt.
