Run "which libtool".  If you get "/sw/bin/libtool" (assuming a default
Fink installation) then this is clearly the problem.

If you didn't do this yourself, then run "dpkg -S /sw/bin/libtool" to
find out which package did this so that we can fix it.

On the other hand, if you set this up, you really should have
mentioned it in your message!

It must have been me, and not all that long ago... I'm sorry for not remembering or mentioning it. Now all I have to do is figure out precisely why I did it so that I can work on a solution that won't require intervention to have both fink and whatever else work.
