/usr/bin/c++filt is one of Apple's installer's favorites when it comes to "forgetting" to install random files. You might want to reinstall the BSD.pkg from your system CD; if you updated your Xcode tools after the system installation, the file might also have been on the to-do list of the 2005-06XcodeExtras.pkg. Look if you have a receipt for the latter in /Library/Receipts; if yes, reinstall it.
