Hello all,
KDE 3.4.3-11 on OS X 10.3.8. I'd like to get the translucency working for KDE like I have on my Linux version but am confused as to which file to modify. In Linux it's just /etc/X11/Xconfig but I'm at a loss as to where it is in OS X's X11. Any help?

Are you using X11 fullscreen? Or rootless.

As I understand it, translucency in X11 is implemented in one of 2 ways:

1) faking it, taking "screenshots" of whatever's behind the windows and
doing the work manually. This, obivously, doesn't work when there's
no root window to take a screenshot of
2) the new xfixes/damages extensions, these are not implemented in any
Mac OS X X11 server, AFAIK, so they just plain Won't Work

Either way, translucency basically won't work, and won't for the forseeable future.
