I've googled and checked out the FAQ and the documentation, but I'm
quite lost on this and would appreciate any advice. My fink install has
become corrupted and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Here's what I see:
sudo fink index -- runs fine, produces no errors
sudo fink scanpackages -- runs fine, produces no errors
sudo fink selfupdate -- Seems to run fine, until I get this error:
<quote>
Reading Package Lists...
E: Unable to parse package file /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status (1)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
### execution of /sw/bin/apt-get-lockwait failed, exit code 100
WARNING: Failure while downloading indexes.Running 'fink scanpackages'
may fix this.
</quote>
Needless to say running scanpackages, and regressing status to
status-old, do not help.
Is this a common problem?
