I have a question on universal builds of fink libraries, such as
libgmp, libjpeg, etc.
1) My assumption is that different projects are in different
states. (i.e. not all fink packages have been built as universal)
Looking at a couple of libraries, that appears to be the case.
2) I need to build several libraries as universal. I would gladly
work with folks that are autoconf-savvy to figure out the necessary
changes and submit those to the package maintainer. In short, I'm
looking for help to resolve errors like (this is an attempt at
building libgmp direct from source):

Is it appropriate for me to ask for help on this list? fink-devel
seems more appropriate, but I'm neither a developer or a maintainer
of fink, so I didn't know whether subscribing there was appropriate.
Any thoughts appreciated.
