Martin, I have found out the source of the problem and it had nothing to do with Fink. Actually it was a very stupid thing... I was so amazed by how Fink worked well that I completely forgot that under X there was my MacOSX installation in action!! And Little Snitch was blocking all the connections initiated by software he was not aware of... like kdeinit! So, I edited Little Snitch's rules to allow traffic initiated by KDE and everything worked! Sorry for the fuss and the inconvenience... and again, congrats to developers for the great job. -- Piero Piutti ------------ Debian and Kubuntu Linux User - MacOSX User Member of Brindisi Linux User Group - http://www.brilug.it ---------------------------------------------------------- CCNA - MCP - MCSA Network Technician, Systems Engineering Group (ICC/DPKO) United Nations Logistics Base, Brindisi, Italy ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
