I just spent the better part of a week installing the dependencies for Gnucash 2.0.1 via Fink. This is my first foray into X11 apps on OS X, so I'm not surprised it took awhile.
Anyway, after a few missteps and a quick lesson in editing text files as root from Alexander Hansen, I've got Gnucash 2.0.1 working now. Since Gnucash v1.8 was the latest available via Fink, I used using the instructions at http://captnswing.net/2006/07/10/gnucash20_on_intel_macs.html to compile and install Gnucash (but used the newer v2.0.1 of Gnucash). And that leads to my question: how up-to-date is Fink's package list? Gnucash 2.0.1 was released in July... Is the package unstable, or does Fink's package list just take awhile to be updated?
