That's no problem - the first thing I did when I got my Mac was play  
around with Cocoa ;o)

fink selfupdate-cvs worked, as suspected, as our proxy blocks all  
rsync traffic and I am now running fink update-all (so far with an  
error on gettext but following the instructions has fixed that).

I can install from sources now using fink commander, but it seems  
that it doesn't like updating the package descriptions - how long  
does this process normally take before a response is returned?
