Thanks, now it does without errors. Actually there was no additional 
package today, so all attempted updates belong to auctex.

I still wonder why this problem didn't occur before since I had installed 
auctex all the time. And, according to the Fink Commander table, it is 
already marked as outdated:

Installed: 11.13-1013
Latest   : 11.83-2

A few weeks ago I also tried to switch to the unstable tree to get more 
recent packages. Unfortunately, it failed due to multiple dependency 
inconsistencies. Eventually I was forced to revert to a backup of the /sw 
tree. So, if I want to switch to unstable, then it is to be better to do 
a complete re-installation of all the Fink packages, isn't it?
