Dear Fink users and developers, I started very recently to use my Mac Terminal and I am still not very good when it comes to use line codes. However, I was able to write simple scripts by using the Bioperl module installed via Fink on my OsX Tiger.
I have recently upgraded my OSX to Leopard (10.5) and uninstall Fink and Bioperl since I was told that a regular upgrade won't do the job. Thus, I installed the Fink version for Leopard (following the first time installation fast track) from the source file (fink-0.27.3 <http://downloads.sourceforge.net/fink/fink-0.27.3.tar.gz> ). The installation was Okay. However, I had a concern when I tried to install Bioperl by typing fink install bioperl-pm586, The installation seemed to be Okay but I have the feeling it is incomplete since I get the following message whenever I try to run a Bioperl script: Can't locate Bio/DB/GenBank.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /sw/lib ... or Can't locate Bio/Seq.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /sw/lib ... Do you think the Bioperl installation was not complete and that I missed something while installing bioperl using Fink? Thank you very much for your help, jlj ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
