While rsync is preferred over cvs, "cvs" in this case doesn't indicate 
that it's somehow more unstable than rsync, it is just the delivery 
mechanism for getting info files.

Unless you have CVS conflicts when selfupdating, switching to rsync 
won't fix your build issues.

However, it is best to make sure you're up-to-date, so try a "fink 
selfupdate-rsync" before trying your update-all again.

If you still have issues, please report them to the maintainers of the 
failing packages, they are bugs.  =)
