Yeah, I didn't keep track of the versions of Xrandr and just went with  
what has been working recently.  It's still the situation of "binary  
was built with more recent X11 than is on the system".

I believe the binary distribution was built soon after 10.5.2 came  
out; and It's quite likely that this was the OS version on that  
machine.
