Hi,
While trying to install gnuplot on Leopard 10.5.6/Intel (unstable tree)
I got the messages following the line (I repeated the procedure after a
fink selfupdate with the same results). My current Fink/package manager
version is
bash-3.2$ fink --version
Package manager version: 0.28.7
Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Wed Apr 1 21:26:50 2009, 10.5,
i386
Now the messages:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
bash-3.2$ sudo fink install gnuplot
Information about 8342 packages read in 0 seconds.

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and
try again. If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the
FAQ on fink's website solves the problem. If not, ask on the fink-users
or fink-beginners mailing lists, with a carbon copy to the maintainer:
Benjamin Reed <[email protected]>
Note that this is preferable to emailing the maintainer directly, since
most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the problem due to ongoing package updates any may being solved after
missing dependencies have been installed, or do I have to do some more
sophisticated repairs?
If there is a larger problem (and I'll decide to install Gnuplot manually
in a separate folger rather than via Fink), what would be the safest and
cleanest way to remove the already installed components that are no longer
needed?
Many thanks in advance!
Best wishes,
Ingo
