Thank you very much for taking your time to answer my questions. Here are two
main errors I am running into with Fink.
1.
cvs update: tried to log in as anonymous and with blank password. As
you see, read-only access failed. I was doing this updates in an effort
to update libmpfr.

2.
Errors occured during the installation of Grace. There are a number of
tests that failed as you see. At a glance, I thought I had a problem
with libmpfr as its version is "outdated". Perhaps this has to do with
the fact that I cannot execute selfupdate-cvs? Thanks again for your
