I removed my /sw directory and reinstalled fink once I saw gnucash
available on 10.6 (I installed the 32 bit version). Everything

I then tried to run 'gnucash' from the prompt and get the following:
gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at
configure time.
this message is unimportant

This is the big one :(
Can you start the Console app (in the Utilities Folder), and look in
the Files/Crashreporter list to see if you have a crash log for
gnucash-bin_Date-Time_machinename.crash?
I did test both 32 and 64 bit versions this morning, and they worked
for me. So I'm at a loss to explain the problem.
In the "grasping at straws" category, if you start the program with:
gnucash --nofile
do you at least get the program launched?
The I am just returned to my prompt in Terminal. I see X11 start
(from the Apple 10.6 install), but gnucash does not open. I did a
selfupdate and update-all as well, but no luck. I am not sure where
to begin with this one. Thanks for any help!

I tried gnucash --nofile, and I still get the same error. I do see a
gnucash-bin crash file. Contents of the threads and what was running
pasted below (I left out the binary images part). Thanks for the
help!

dmacks on IRC mentioned he's seen this when a program gets ahold of
the wrong version of fontconfig. Can you look in the binary images
stuff in the crash log for fontconfig (probably as libfontconfig)?
