Although if things continue to work in general (fink or otherwise) after
overwriting /usr/bin/perl with ActivePerl, you'll be very lucky indeed.
 Overwriting system stuff is *never* a good idea, and on OSX,
/usr/bin/perl was a very special tool that handles 32/64-bit plugins in
a somewhat clean way, as well as choosing perl versions and such like
your properties-changing was supposed to handle.

If ActivePerl overwrote /usr/bin/perl, all that magic is gone now.  It
would be a good idea to try to get it back to some semblance of how the
system was installed...
