Your problem isn't with coot, but with pygtk2-gtk-py26. And really,
it's with a file that Apple decided to get rid of.
Did you use a 64-bit install on Leopard and then upgrade to Snow
Leopard? If not, then something somewhere else in your build is
generating a reference to that nonexistent file, which could potentially
be from random third-party stuff. Since you didn't show the line of
output just before the error occurred, it's hard to say at this point.
In any case you can use a command like
find /sw/lib -name "*.la" | xargs rm
to remove all of the .la files in your Fink tree. At that point, if you
get the same thing, then it's time to look for non-Fink third-party stuff.
