Thanks Kevin, The info file does the trick! "install cadabra" worked without problems, and after fixing the dpgk status file for the cadabra buildlock, also the "-m rebuild" went through without problems. Cadabra now works fine in the terminal window. The graphical interface that should open through xcadabra does not work for some reason. It returns
"(xcadabra:9798): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0". But I don't know if this is a related or separate issue.
