All,

I'm having troubles trying to install practically any package with 64-bit
fink. I've got a /sw/ and /sw64/ version. The init script for the former
is in my bash_profile and I run the init script for the latter when I need
to install a 64-bit version.

With the 64-bit builds I keep getting errors of the ilk:
error: duplicate 'unsigned'
error: 'long long long' is too long for GCC
error: declaration does not declare anything

Sometimes I have success by commenting out the offending declaration (works
with doxygen-1.5.6-5) but not always (doesn't work with fltk-x11-1.1.7-1002,
mysql-unified-5.0.45-5 as it leads to further errors). I've tried enabling
the unstable sources and using disable-werror to no avail.

Surely I shouldn't have to patch every package in this manner? What should
I do about the ones that this type of patch doesn't work for? I can post
reports for each failing build as required but since the same problem is
affecting many packages I thought I'd ask this question generically. I'm
beginning to wonder if I've missed something fundamental.

Package manager version: 0.29.10
Distribution version: selfupdate-cvs Fri May 7 01:57:21 2010, 10.6, x86_64
Mac OS X version: 10.6.3
Xcode version: 3.2.2
gcc version: 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5659)
make version: 3.81
Feedback Courtesy of FinkCommander

Needless to say, the initial amusement of reading "long long long is too
long" errors has long since worn-off.

Thanks in advance,

Robin
