I don't see any packages. The download looks like a picture of a book and next
to it says 'Disk Image" Clicking on that gets a box with the bird picture, a
README file that has the EXACT same instructions to download as fink, down to
the same 0.29.16 file name so that does not seem helpful. The other icon is @
and underneath says Fink Commander-Home which starts talking merrily about what
to do AFTER the install

What operating system version are you on? There aren't any binary
packages for 10.6, other than what you build from source on your machine.
Also, when you're doing an install, you need to highlight a package name
in the Fink Commander list. Do you not have any packages in the list?
