So if I understand you correctly:
1) Fink Commander was working at one point, and had a list of available
packages.
2) You updated the "fink" package (possibly others, too).
3) Fink Commander's list disappeared.
Is this correct?
You might start by seeing if Fink Commander's "update table" command
will fix things. Fink Commander doesn't always synchronize automatically.
